Four Sessions from 7-8 p.m. on 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, 10/5 via ZOOM

TEENS, PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS:

Join us to discuss “So You Want to Talk About Race” and the way racism plays a part in our lives, families and communities.

• How can you explain to someone their jokes are racist?

• When is a good time to talk about race with your kids?

• How can you tell your parents you are concerned about Black Lives Matter?

Participants will receive a book kit with a copy of the book “So You Want To Talk About Race” to keep. You can pickup the book kit curbside from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on August 31.

Led by Kathleen Powers, LSW, Director of Youth Services with help from Kent Memorial Library Director Garrett Pinder and KML Teen Services Coordinator Wendy Mitzel.

This is a discussion for furthering our understanding and perspective. We will discuss our groups’

ZOOM code of conduct at our first meeting! GRADE 8 AND ABOVE. Families encouraged to attend.
