The Suffield Arts Council will feature a collection of paintings by Ludlow artist Gail Whitney during

the month of February, in the Pinney Gallery of the Kent Memorial Library in Suffield.

Ms. Whitney began her formal art training at age ten, going on to earn a B.A. degree in Art and

Marketing from Providence College. A reading teacher, she also holds a Masters in Education.

A member of the Tobacco Valley Artists Association and the Wilbraham Art League, she paints

primarily oils and pastels in her home studio, and on location, in plain air.

Gail’s paintings have been on display in juried shows throughout New England, where they have

enjoyed critical acclaim and captured many awards.

She paints in the style of the Old Masters of Europe, with an influence of French Impressionism.

Through her paintings she tries to produce pieces that will relax the viewer, and provide the

means to remove us from our everyday stresses. It is her intention to represent the natural

beauty found in colors of our surroundings.

The show will be on display from February 1st through February 29th, during Library hours. It

appears through the joint efforts of the Suffield Arts Council, the artist, and the Kent Library
