The Kent Memorial Library is looking for lots of short and shivery original stories, written by Suffield residents, from 1st grade through Adult.  Here are the rules for the contest: Original, unpublished short stories containing 1,000 words or less, written by Suffield residents, will be accepted for the contest at the Kent Memorial Library, 61 Ffyler Place, from Monday, September 19 until Saturday, October 15.  One entry per person.  Class submissions are welcome, but each submission must be unique.

All short stories must be attached to an application form available on the library’s website and at the library.

Entries must be typed, single-spaced in a 12 point font.

1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes will be awarded by The Friends of Kent Memorial Library in 5 groups:

Grades 1-2     Grades 3-5     Grades 6-8     Grades 9-12     Adult

1st prize is $25
2nd prize is $10
3rd prize is $5

Winners will be asked to read their stories at a
special program sometime in October.
