Daniel Shay, a Revolutionary War Army Captain, led a rebellion to protest difficult economic conditions for farmers during the period after the war. There were riots at North Hampton and Springfield Massachusetts.
Ratification of the United States Constitution: 1788 Connecticut ratifies the US Constitution.
Inoculation of smallpox 1792, town of Suffield suffers an outbreak of smallpox. There are "pesthouses" in town, where victims were isolated.
