Deborah Pileika, a local artist, is passionate about recycling and repurposing and has created works of art with this philosophy in mind. These unique and one of a kind pieces are created using paper from various publications and scraps of fabric, fibers and threads from her fabric projects. Once layered with glass, static electrifies the fibers creating a three dimensional effect.
Deborah has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from Kean University located New Jersey, and specializes in custom window treatments, slipcovers and upholstery. Much of the artwork is inspired by nature, which Deb finds in her surroundings.
The public is invited to a “Meet The Artist” reception in the Library on Thursday, November 9th, from 6:00-8:00 PM
Deborah currently lives in West Suffield CT and enjoys spending time on the Cape. She will be one of the artists featured in the Suffield Artists 2nd Annual Open Studio Tour on December 2nd.
